What does Colmar in the Alsatian area of France and the Statue of Liberty have in common?
The sculptor Frederic August Bartholdi was born in Colmar France in the year, April 2 1834. He designed the huge statue on his own initiative.
As part of our tour we passed the house where he lived. This is now a museum and has been since 1922. It has the largest collection of works, models and sculptors of the designer of the Statue of Liberty.
This Lady was a gift to the United States from the people of France.
I have not seen this Lady in person as yet, perhaps one day the 3 Sisters Abroad will travel and see her in person.
I was lucky to have visited new york over 20 years ago. Also very fortunate to have visited Colmar with you and Muriel.
Do you think new york is ready for the 3 sisters.
