Mokoan Rest Stop Art works (Victoria Australia)

Mokoan Rest Stop is very familiar to me. Its a great place to stop and stretch the legs, toilet stop and walk the dogs. Its roughly 1 hour 15 mins or 120 km from Albury heading to Melbourne or Shepparton. These stops are Northbound and Southbound on the Hume Freeway. The Hume Freeway takes you all the way to Sydney or Melbour

Apart from a rest stop there is some amazing art work on the toilet blocks and a water tank. Benalla a town off the main highway has commissioned artists to do work on Wheat Silo’s, Water Tanks and Toilet Blocks. Apparently these were commissioned back in 2017 however I was living down on the Mornington Peninsula from 2017 – late 2020. So I have only noticed these the last few times heading down to Melbourne. Often I go to Shepparton via Yarrawonga so I have bypassed Mokoan Rest Stop.

I hope you enjoy these work of arts I have featured here. If you ever are passing Mokoan do stop check them out.

These are on the Southbound Mokoan Rest stop on the way to Melbourne.

  1. It’s my goal to bet back to Australia, rent a campervan and tool around for a few months…hopefully the world will right itself and we will be able to do that in the next few years. Meanwhile, I love your photos and saved this post for future planning purposes. Thank you!
