Woke up in the morning early as the car had to be at the car dealership for its first check up lol. The sun was rising over Lake Boga as we walked the dogs and packed the car. It was so stunning watching the sun rise over the lake.

Its only a 10 minute drive into Swan Hill from Lake Boga – Dropped the car off and then began our walk around town. First up was a coffee a very important start to the day. It was going to be a long day so we needed to stay awake. We walked around the streets of Swan Hill going pass the primary school – where I was taking some photos and then teachers came to make sure we were not doing anything wrong. Greg used to go to this school many moons ago.

We also passed the Swan Hill Town Hall Performing Arts and Conference Centre. An elegant restored art deco space built in 1935 and still retains many of the original features. The venue was preciously the municipal chambers for the region and still houses many of the original honor boards and photos.

We then walked down to the parklands that are alongside the Murray River.
Did you know that Swan Hill – Victoria has more sunny days than per year than the Gold Coast – Queensland and a temperature that averages 23 degrees.
The parklands alongside the river are so beautiful. BBQ’s, lots of trees, toilets and even a cafe oh and a caravan park. We purchased a coffee from the cafe and proceeded to sit on the deck with our dogs – no one else was at the cafe. We were told to move on as dogs not allowed on the deck. Mind you no signs were visible. The owner was not very nice, we made a decision its called DCB – dont come back!
We found a wonderful cafe/restaurant where we had something to eat , Peachys – 147 Campbell Street Swan Hill. We had the Buffalo Wings which were so delicious. I thought I didn’t have a picture of the wings but I found one.

By about 2pm we were tired of walking around Swan Hill, not many places you can go with dogs. So Greg rang to see if the car was ready which it was, thank goodness and we went and picked it up.
Our next stop would be Deniliquin. We would stay two nights at a dog friendly cabin.
We are heading back to Lake Boga early next year so will do more on Lake Boga and Swan Hill and surrounds then.

Thank you so much for visiting and sharing your links with us at SSPS #287. See you again next week
