Back in April we took the caravan to Tallangatta for the weekend. Greg drove the Caravan to the camp spot and I followed in my car. We arrived there around 10.30 am and got one of the best spots at the campground. With views over the oval to the lake. Greg then drove my car back into Albury as he had to go to a shift. The girls – Sally and Betty and relaxed watching the views. There had been a farm show on the Thursday, so the grounds were full of farm machinery. It took them till about 2pm to load up all the equipment. They must have taken most of Wednesday setting up. A lot of work for one day. I took the girls on several walks around the showgrounds. Greg got back to the caravan around 5.30 just as the sun was setting. It was magical. Of course I took many photos and so did the couple in the van next to us.

Next morning after breakfast we took the girls for a long walk in the town. Then we drove to Mitta Mitta and popped into the Brewing Co for lunch. It was a lovely day so we sat outside in the courtyard. The girls were allowed into the courtyard with us.
For lunch we had entree serving of the Housemade Gyoza – Japanese dumplings. Choice of free range pork, chicken or vegetarian with house brewed ponzu and chili sauce. We chose the free range pork. Also had entree size of Nachos with housemate beans, salsa & guacamole, sour cream and jalapeños. Lunch was delicious and we ate the lot. We did share some of the nachos with the girls though minus all the toppings. Greg sampled the beers, the paddle only took 4 but you were given 5. I had a glass of wine. The staff were wonderful regarding what we could have due to our allergies – fish, peanuts and gluten.

We drove back to Tallangatta and took the girls for another walk. That evening sitting outside the caravan at sunset we had an exceptional display as the sun set!
Next morning we packed up some food for a breakfast bbq at the lake. The girls had a run alongside the lake chasing birds and balls. They had so much fun. Once breakfast was cooked we sat on one of the many benches the council provides and ate. The whole time surrounded by magpies watching every bit of food we ate. If you have seen the movie the birds you might know how it felt. They didn’t swoop but they were cheeky. They were sitting on the cover over the bbq’s the light poles the trees all watching us.

Once breakfast finished and bbq area cleaned up we went back to the caravan, packed up, hooked up and drove home.
Another lovely weekend in Tallangatta.
More photos will be on the Instagram
A stop at the Mitta Mitta Brewing Co. would definitely be something we would want to do. Love to try new beers on our travels. And always great when there are tasty options for food too. Nachos are always a favourite – but I would pass on the jalapeños!

Oh it is. It’s close to home for us but far enough to feel like it’s a million miles away.
